Not your average night out - @MetroFW hosted the "Sexiest Men in Fashion" show @millennbiltmore in #DTLA #fashion #menswear #swimwear

PosterMETROPOLITAN FASHION WEEK  (MetroFW) hosted the "Sexiest & Most Stylish Men's Fashion Show in the World," according to Metropolitan Fashion Week Founder, Producer and President, Eduardo Khawan. Held at the stunning Millennium Biltmore Hotel's Crystal Ballroom, MetroFW showcased Giovanni Testi's formal menswear collection and the latest men's swimwear collection from LASC co-hosted by Eduardo, who  is also a Fashion Expert, Producer and TV Personality for Telemundo and Univision along with his lovely co-host, Eva Capra, whom you may recognize as an  America’s Next Top Model Finalist.

Since appearing on America's Top Model, Eva has gone on to become a Model, Actress, Singer and Fashion Influencer. Their lively chatter filled the gaps while the models changed out of their evening wear into the simple t-shirts for the sportswear line, and then changed into the eye-popping swimwear. I only say that because I'm used to men's boardshorts growing up near the beach, not speedos like most Europeans wear. There sure were a lot of near naked men walking down the runway!

“Over 800 models applied for the show and we selected 25 of the hottest male models, worthy of the best international fashion shows in the world” said Eduardo Khawam, Metropolitan fashion Week Founder and President. •

What was interesting to see is that in normally all-female shows, the models are all very thin and some look almost emaciated, but this menswear show featured many more body builder types which may explain why the majority of the luxury menswear appeared to be too small, but then again, it does appear to be the trend in menswear to have too short of pants, sleeves and coat length, (almost like they've experienced a growth spurt and their mom's haven't taken them shopping for new clothes for the school year yet. Can you tell I'm not a fan?:)

However, knowing how models must normally keep their body weight very low due to the emphasis being more on them being live clothes hangers, it was a pleasant surprise (and a whole lot of fun) to watch normal male bodies parade down the runway. Plus, the unique fabric and details of the Testi line more than made up for the seemingly shortness of the outfit. Unfortunately, none of those pictures came out well, but feel free to review on the website here:

Metropolitan Fashion Week Hollywood festivities included a search for the new male and female FACE OF METROPOLITAN FASHION WEEK with an incredible panel including American’s Next Top Model Senior Casting Producer, Carrie Mebane. Also, young models like this one who was channeling his inner Michael Jackson and owned the stage.

What was also interesting to note, the male models who won that night and became the face of the Giovanni Testi brand and the LASC brand were more in line with the size of an average male model vs. the muscular, stocky guys who perhaps are more attractive in real life, but definitely not the typical model build reflected in print publications walking the runway that night i.e., this model who was very entertaining that night.

All in all, a fun evening out on the town.
