Holly has always loved beauty and fashion, but it wasn’t until she became a step-mother that she felt comfortable with her own beauty and actual age. Struggling with feelings of inadequacy since a teen-ager, Holly knows firsthand the struggles women experience in today’s distorted view of beauty.

A year ago, she co-launched an inner-beauty workshop with a professional makeup artist and held numerous workshops teaching women how to internalize the truth of their own unique beauty and create a deeper connection between their inner and outer selves. Many women experienced beauty breakthroughs for the first time with the information, support, and resources provided.

As a spokesperson and inner-beauty workshop leader, Holly has written numerous articles on beauty. An article she wrote for iCNN caught the attention of a CNN producer who interviewed Holly and seven other women on their perception of beauty. To Holly, the most interesting part of her beauty workshops and being on CNN, was listening to other women’s stories and hearing how difficult it was for women to say what is beautiful about themselves.

“We don’t talk enough about beauty and the issues it brings up, to one another. I believe that is beginning to change” says Holly. “The older I become, the more I see that physical beauty is lovely to look at, but ultimately meaningless. Beauty is a reflection of who we are. It is, quite simply, our soul reflected outwardly.”

An accomplished actress, Holly was a television series regular on such television shows as ELLEN, thirtysomething, ANYTHING BUT LOVE with Jamie Lee Curtis, numerous other TV shows and feature films, including the Disney trilogy ZENON, GIRL OF THE 21st CENTURY, and over fifteen television movies.

Prior to moving to Hollywood from her Ohio hometown, Holly studied stage acting at the acclaimed Remains Theatre Co. in Chicago, where she starred in many award-winning plays directed by Tony® award-winning director, Robert Falls. Now that her children are teen-agers, Holly has returned to her theater roots and just worked on a new play by Mark Roberts (creator of MIKE and MOLLY) with the Rogue Machine Theater in Los Angeles, where she is a company member.

In case you can't find anything on TV you want to watch, or have no plans and are just chilling looking for something innovative and unique to watch online, look no further. Received this information from a couple of publicists awhile ago and have been meaning to share it with you for quite some time.

From American film director, writer and producer, Bryan Singer ("The X Men," "The Usual Suspects"), director Stewart Hendler (“Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn”), and written and created by John Cabrera (“Gilmore Girls”) and Cosimo De Tommaso, the highly anticipated live-action web series “H+ The Digital Series” takes viewers on an episodic, apocalyptic journey where technology has gone horrifically wrong.

Image002Originally premiering on YouTube on August 8th and at Comic Con this past July, the series, H+, stars an acclaimed international cast, including Alexis Denisof (“The Avengers”), Hannah Simone ("New Girl"), David Clayton Rogers (“Jane By Design"), Hannah Herzsprung ("Das wahre Leben" / "Life Actually") and Sean Gunn (“Gilmore Girls").   

You haven't missed out though because the show was created with the ability for an audience to create their own playlists, to group character story arcs, geography, chronology, etc and curate content on your own Youtube pages/social media.

It's completely non-linear and each of the 48 five-minute episodes can be watched in any order.

Isn't that cool?

The series takes viewers on a journey into an apocalyptic future where technology has begun to spiral out of control and 33% of the world give up cell phones and laptops in favor of a stunning new device by H+ Nano Teoranta, an innovative technology company that connects the internet to the human mind 24 hours a day.

I would never do this, but I know some tech heads who might find it fun.:)

As mentioned earlier, H+ is created, written and executive produced by John Cabrera (“Gilmore Girls”). What's cool about the YouTube format, is that it allows for viewers to have direct contact and conversation with John as they are watching.

Best known for his 5 year role as “Brian Fuller” in the Emmy Award-winning show “Gilmore Girls,” Cabrera who has also appeared on “Without a Trace,” “Numb3rs” and “CSI” has been working on making H+ a reality for the past 6 years. 

The Miami native graduated from DePaul University with a degree in Acting and co-founded the theater company “Collaboraction” and was awarded the Joseph Jefferson Award Citation for Best Actor in a Supporting Role.

Cabrera also wrote and directed web series “The Homes” an indie rock musical road trip starring Chelsea Kane. In his spare time, Cabrera is an avid rock climber and has a background in computer programming and design which garners him respect in the social media digital universe.

I know I'm impressed, aren't you? What's fun for me with this series, is that Bryan Singer had a short film in my short film festival years ago and it's exciting to see people I knew back in the day continue to succeed. I wish them both much success with this show.

Recently received an article my recent client, International Stylist, Nicole Janowicz, had contributed to months ago when we were still working together. Thought you might enjoy reading it, expecially if you're planning for your own wedding.

CTW has licensing agreements with 1,000 additional newspapers and online journals and you may have read this story on one of those sites as well. 

I was very happy to help Nicole create her online presence on all the popular social media platforms (Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook, etc); write all her marketing copy including press releases, email pitches (ad agencies, talent agencies, brands, schools and universities, media, celebrities and musicians), newsletters, and coverage in my blog; successfully pitch her to numerous fashion & wedding blogs as a contributing writer which resulted in her own Huffington Post blog, in addition to, national and international blog coverage; and speaking opportunities at FIDM San Diego and elsewhere.

All of our efforts ultimately helped find Nicole an agent at The Rex Agency before our contract ended. Very proud of this work and happy for her because this is what she needed to take her career to the next level.

Why is White-Collar Crime on the Rise? COO Advocates Values-in-Action Courses for All Students

I was recently pitched by a publicist regarding this issue and in light of what's going on in society, felt it was pretty compelling. Here's what she sent me for your reading pleasure. Tell me if you agree...

It seems every time we turn around, another financial giant is accused of lying, cheating and stealing.

It’s not your imagination, says Rakesh Malhotra, a longtime COO who has worked in Asia, East Europe and United States and led cross-cultural diverse teams. “White-collar crime convictions in the United States alone have increased 17.8 percent in the last five years alone," he says. "Last year, the Securities Exchange Commission filed a record 735 enforcement actions.”

And it’s not just hedge fund operators and money traders. White-collar crimes include identity theft, cheating on taxes, health-care fraud – crimes as readily committed by employees at the local big-box store as suits in penthouse offices.

“The problem is one of values,” says Malhotra, author of Adventures of Tornado Kid: Whirling Back Home Towards Timeless Values (www.FiveGlobalValues.com.) “I have worked in several countries, recruiting, hiring, training and retaining employees.

I found that in every culture, the same core values play a key role in the success of both employees and the corporation. 

“Unfortunately, they are not taught in school – not in grade school or in most business schools. While we would benefit from having values taught at all age levels, for now they are learned mostly from parents, mentors, inspiring teachers and others who shape young lives.”

It’s as important for the business to have what Malhotra has identified as five essential global values as it is for the employees, he says.

“The business has to show that these ethics are implemented and acted upon. Otherwise, the employee with values, the one instructed to, say, lie about a product, will feel secure about reporting such conduct without being fired.”

What are these values and how can they be taught?

• Responsibility: There is nothing more fundamental to being an adult in our society than accountability. Parents can create cause-and-effect circumstances, such as letting a teen borrow the car provided they put gas in it. Breaking such a pact though, because of a bad grade in school, creates a mixed message. When children learn responsibility, they know that happiness comes from doing the right thing.  

• Compassion: It’s not just a term for being nice; compassion is a form of intelligence – an empathetic ability to see a situation through another’s eyes and to feel what another person feels. When adults are compassionate, they reach out to help others because they can feel others’ pain – and the relief and gratitude of help, sympathy or encouragement.
  
• Integrity: Integrity is the glue that holds together all of the values. When given an option to stray from our values, such as lying for the sake of convenience, integrity is there to hold us accountable.

• Peace: Our ability to manage conflicts amicably is a direct result of a peaceful mind and attitude. Those who value peace view anger, jealousy and hostility as the barriers to communication that they are. In all settings, business and domestic, conflicts will arise – it is inevitable. We must work through these peacefully if we are to move forward.

• Love: You must love what you do, passionately. Do your work and your organization in some way contribute to the welfare of people? That is the reason for your passion. With love, you contribute to the greater good and feel gratified.
