Food, Fashion and Wine Festival Featuring The Dinner of Champions Comes to Raleigh Studios in Manhattan Beach Saturday, August 21 6pm - 10pm Benefits Dig4Kids

By Joy A. Kennelly

Looking forward to attending the Food, Fashion & Wine Festival honoring sports legends, Linda Hanley, Chris Marlowe & Steve Obradovich this Saturday, August 21, from 6pm - 10pm at Raleigh Studios in Manhattan Beach.   Ffwprogram-1 I'm especially happy to attend because this event also benefits Olympic Gold Medalist Eric Fonoimoana's Dig 4 Kids Education Foundation. Watch the video below to learn more about this awesome volleyball charity!

This is exactly why I admire some of our local professional volleyball athletes so much. Some are such amazing role models to the community and a real blessing to children who need them now more than ever.

If you join us you will also enjoy a live art show by Andy Brown. South Bay restaurants are serving food and wine will be served by One Hope, Rosenthal and Thomas Halby.

I love a good food & wine festival with art, especially when it benefits a charity. I've never seen the NY Backlot of Raliegh Studios either which is where it will be held.  How fun!

The other fun aspect this ambitious fund-raiser event has included is a fashion show (another favorite event of mine) hosted by the current MISS CALIFORNIA USA® Nicole Johnson and AVP announcer, Chris "Geeter" McGee.

If Geeter is the same guy who was emceeing the recent Six Man Magnum game, I'm sure it's going to be a very funny evening.

Also, the models are MISS CALIFORNIA USA® contestants and professional volleyball athletes which means lots of eye candy for all the guys who attend because they're wearing swim suits and casual wear from Body Glove, Sledge, Jayime Jean, O'Neill, Lost Bird and stylish shoes by Michael Antonio.

Just think, it's a worthy cause too which means you can write off your schmoozing and ogling!:)

But on a more serious note, here's the official statement from Dig4Kids Founder and Olympic Gold Medalist, Eric Fonoimoana, himself from the press release:

"I grew up in Manhattan Beach and as a kid, I loved watching the legends of beach volleyball compete. The Manhattan Beach Open Dinner of Champions was established to remember those who have won the Manhattan Beach Open and thank them for being a role model and ambassador of our sport."

Don't miss your chance to mix and mingle with legends of the Manhattan Beach Open and all the special guests in attendance. It's not too late to buy a ticket.

Tickets are $75 and can be purchased by clicking this Ffwparticipants1 or going to www.digforkids.org or at the door.
