Couple of things - Palin/Biden debate, comic, Catholic vote
October 03, 2008
This morning a comic took it upon herself to send me her comedic rendition of Sarah Palin and her pro-life stance and the boast that her youtube video has been seen by 200k. Well, Ms. Comic, just thought you'd like to know that the Catholic church is getting into politics too and there's a little video they cooked up on life that 67 million people have received. Bet you didn't realize there were that many Catholics did you? I sure didn't!
Now I'm not Catholic, but I like what they're doing and wish the Christian churches would wake up to their responsibilities to defend unborn children too. I've heard numerous celebrities and others throw around the statement that Palin is proposing people have 19 children rather than abortion.
Look at it the other way - how many abortions is it going to take before the woman having them realize that they need to have their tubes tied if they're too stupid to pursue other types of contraception?
I know someone who had 13 abortions and now that she has a baby girl, regrets every one of them. I'm sure there's others who've had more. They weren't raped by their fathers, they weren't raped at all actually, just careless with birth control. Those are the women I want to think about what they're doing and why I feel this issue needs to be addressed now, not later.
I would still LOVE to see the statistics of women who choose abortion who are raped vs. those who think it's the alternative to birth control. I'm sure the numbers aren't near the same which is why that argument is flawed.
Enough of me though. This is what my friend sent me:
Take a
look and see what the Catholics have done to encourage their 67 million people on
election day.. They don't tell them how to vote but
they sure do get their message
across.

This is the newsletter the Catholic vote sent out too which I also really like. If you're for the other side politically, try to be open-minded enough to read something you might not agree with because this group really is even tempered about this whole election which I respect. They don't tell you how to vote, but offer their insights. I really like it. "Tonight's VP debate has everybody talking. Alaska Governor and hockey mom Sarah Palin will face off against Senator
Joe Biden, who often talks about his Catholic roots in Scranton, PA. Meanwhile, Pennsylvania's "Electric City" will be buzzing this weekend. Help us spread the word! Donate now. We hope the issue of life makes it into the debate. The issue deserves some serious attention, and the American people
deserve to know exactly where the candidates stand. As Bishop Martino says at the opening of his letter,
“this October, our efforts have more significance than ever.” Thank you for your prayers and financial support. Please continue to spread the
word about CatholicVote.com. We still need your help! Please consider making a small donation today by clicking here.
Scranton Bishop Joseph Martino has ordered all parishes in Scranton to read his
pastoral letter on abortion in substitute for the homily at all Masses this Sunday. (WHY CAN'T CHRISTIAN CHURCHES BE AS BOLD?)
Martino’s letter will ask Catholics to consider the profound importance of
protecting innocent human life. His letter directly addresses the most common arguments used to justify
support for pro-abortion political candidates.
Martino wrote, “It is a tragic irony that “pro-choice” candidates have come
to support homicide – the gravest injustice a society can tolerate – in the name of ‘social justice.’”
His
letter
continues: “Being “right” on taxes, education, health care,
immigration, and the economy fails to make up for the error of
disregarding the value of a human life.”
Bishop
Martino is right. Too often today we’re given sham reasons for not
protecting innocent human life. There are many important
issues, from health care to the economy, but what’s more important than
your life? This is the
message of our film at CatholicVote.com – some issues are foundational – beginning with the right to life!
Another argument used against the pro-life cause is
the War in Iraq. Bishop Martino tackled question that head on.
“Even
the Church’s just war theory has moral force because it
is grounded in the principle that innocent human life must be protected
and defended. Now, a person may, in good faith, misapply just war
criteria
leading him to mistakenly believe that an unjust war is just, but he or
she still knows that innocent human life may not be harmed on purpose.
A
person who supports permissive abortion laws, however, rejects the
truth that innocent human life may never be destroyed,” the Bishop of
Scranton wrote.
We applaud Bishop Martino for his courageous
and timely reminder that legal abortion represents a ‘profound moral
failure.’ The time has come to place abortion along side slavery and
child labor as sad chapters of our past. At 67 million strong,
Catholics
have the power to end abortion and build a more peaceful and just
society.

Oh, and I'd love to hear what people think about this issue too because this really scares me and even more so, because this could be true:
OBAMA CULT
Jack Wheeler is a brilliant
man who was the author of Reagan's strategy to break the back of the Soviet
Union with the star wars race and expose their inner weakness. For years he
wrote a weekly intelligence update that was extremely interesting and well
structured and informed. He consults(ed) with several mega corporations on
global trends and the future, etc. I think he is in semi-retirement now. He is a
true patriot with a no-nonsense approach to everything.
Written by Dr.
Jack Wheeler
The O-man, Barack Hussein Obama, is an eloquently tailored
empty suit. No resume, no accomplishments, no experience, no original ideas,
no understanding of how the economy works, no understanding of how the world
works, no balls, nothing but abstract empty rhetoric devoid of real
substance.
He has no real identity. He is half-white, which he rejects.
The rest of him is mostly Arab, which he hides but is disclosed by his
non-African Arabic surname and his Arabic first and middle names as a way to
triply proclaim his Arabic parentage to people in Kenya . Only a small part
of him is African Black from his Luo grandmother, which he pretends he is
exclusively.
What he isn't, not a genetic drop of, is 'African-American,'
the descendant of enslaved Africans brought to America chained in slave
ships. He hasn't a single ancestor who was a slave. Instead, his Arab
ancestors were slave owners. Slave-trading was the main Arab business in East
Africa for centuries until the British ended it.
Let that sink in: Obama
is not the descendant of slaves, he is the descendant of slave
owners.
Therefore, he makes the perfect Liberal Messiah.
It's
something Hillary doesn't understand - how some complete neophyte came out of
the
blue and stole the Democratic nomination from her. Obamamania is beyond
politics and
reason. It is a true religious cult, whose adherents reject
Christianity yet still believe in
Original Sin, transferring it from the evil
of being human to the evil of being white.
Thus, Obama has become the
white liberals' Christ, offering absolution from the Sin of Being
White.
There is no reason or logic behind it, no faults or flaws of his can
diminish it, no arguments Hillary
could make of any kind can be effective
against it. The absurdity of Hypocrisy Clothed In Human Flesh
being their Savior
is all the more cause for liberals to worship him: Credo quia absurdum, I
believe it because it is absurd.
Thank heavens the voting majority of
Americans remain Christian and are in no desperate need of a phony
savior.
His candidacy is ridiculous and should not be taken seriously by
any FREE thinking American.
