Quick update then off to brecky and back to work!

By Joy A. Kennelly

I hope you all enjoyed your Labor Day holiday weekend. I still have mixed emotions about what I experienced, but have decided to focus on the positive, fun aspects (like speed boating, hearing a fun band and bumping into my good friends Shana and Rick up in Lake Arrowhead unexpectedly) and pray for the other aspects because it really is heart breaking. And that's all I'll say about that.

It's just taken me a few days to recover which is why I haven't been able to write. I'm very sensitive and when something bothers me it's hard to express myself through words. I just shut down and express myself in other more physical ways and/or go silent.

That said, I really just wanted to be with someone I loved and hide out all day on Monday. Alas and alack, that didn't happen. Remember that old song with the lyrics "Make the world go away, get it off my shoulders. Say the things you used to say and make the world go away."

Those were my sentiments exactly. Did have some shopping therapy at the Hermosa Fiesta though with my good friend/neighbor Lotus which really helped. She's a shopper!

Yesterday and today are new days. Got a lot of work done last night. Felt good to accomplish something that I've been needing to do for a few days. I still need to share pix and info from my latest South Bay Professional Connection at The Shore which I promise to do today. Finally have the time and joie de vivre to express the happiness that event brought to many of us.

Busy planning fun activities on my new Elite Singles by The Shore group which has been fun. Am going to be getting even busier now that my actor client,Domiziano Arcangeli, has hired me for red carpet appearances. Fortunately, I have a new assistant organizer who I will be meeting with and she and I will split some of the responsibilities. Whew...

Every time I make a list of everything I have going on I get a little overwhelmed. That's partly the reason I started the singles group - to force myself to stop working, get out and have some fun with new people.

Plus, then people know what I'm up to and can join me if they feel like it which takes some of the pressure off me from having to remember to invite people when I'm caught up with work. Not really looking to make a love connection out of it, but you never know.

Enjoying my new morning networking group a lot. I love being around motivated, positive people. Period. I was going to add something to that statement regarding others I know who aren't in the group and buggin' me, but decided to take the high road. I hate being lectured is all I'll say. Yo' not my mama!

Lots to do today too. Taking a few meetings, wrapping up some stuff, writing, and then hitting The Shore with some of my new meetup friends to hear the Kua' Ana band playing tonight.

Here's the blurb:

Kua’ Ana  (www.myspace.com/k2kuaana) 10:00pm

Kua’ Ana brings the Hawaiian reggae vibe to the mainland, making you feel like you are back on the islands. The boys hooked up in Carson, CA after resurrecting the original Kua’ana lineup several years ago. Kua'ana soon found themselves performing at clubs up and down the West Coast. Kua’ana has had the honor of sharing the stage with numerous high profile musicians and comedians.

Doesn't that sound interesting and relaxing?

Now, off to brecky like my good friend Shana always says.

More laters.
